My husband and I had a little staycation at Virgin and wanted to stay in for dinner after the pool. We opted to visit Casa Calavera and were able to easily snag some seats at the bar. We shared the nachos & a pitcher of margaritas. The nachos were tasty & enough for sharing. I liked that they had a live DJ too, super cool vibe and great way to get the night started.

Loved our dinner here last month! The food was hearty & delicious, tasty Instagram-worthy cocktails, fun Dia de los Muertos decorations/vibe. Great service as well. Will be back for sure!

I was staying in this hotel and by far this was my fave place on the property. The staff is so kind and knows the menu well. The drinks were very tasty. I loved that they also had vegan options. It's a casual ambiance that's relaxed and cozy.

The food here is so good ! I wish the portions were bigger for the price but the taste is definitely there. I went on a week day so it was super easy to get a table and our food did not take longer than 15 mins. The staff is super nice and the place was clean. They also have a mango guacamole that was delicious. Truly a great place to try.

We were at Virgin Hotels for a concert (wutang) and made a last minute reservation here based on other reviews. SO glad we did -- the service (we sat at the bar) was exceptional and the food was delicious. We enjoyed a spicy mango margarita + shared ceviche tostadas, chips + salsa and chicken taquitos. All of it exceeded all expectations. I generally stay at MGM properties however, we may need to consider staying at Virgin (even if just for this restaurant!) A definite must.

The food here is outstanding. There wasn't one dish we tried that we didn't like. I love the mix of "American-ized" and more traditional. I hate corn ribs, I think the fad is kind of dumb actually, but we tried them here and I had to eat my words. So crispy, yet tender and easy to eat, with great flavors. I was shocked by the al pastor carrots. So excellent, I could eat them all the time. And the star of the night for me was the pescado. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Served with an avocado salad type thing that I also could eat everyday. Also, the FREE chips and salsa (yes, we got this for free, like all other Mexican restaurants in the area) were actually really good. Nice warm, freshly fried chips and a salsa that wasn't boring. It had some spice to it and a lot of good flavor. The drinks were solid but nothing to really write home about. They're interesting and priced well though, so no complaints at all. The service here was fantastic as well. Our server made sure to check in on us all the time, making sure we had everything we needed and that everything tasted good. Whenever someone else came to bring food, they made sure to say what it was and describe the dish a bit. Those little things are very much appreciated. Last, but not least, the place is decorated really nicely. I loved the murals and the spots you can take pictures and have fun. The chairs at the tables were super comfortable.

The happy hour is phenomenal at Casa Calavera. The restaurant is in the Virgin Hotel complex. Happy hour runs from 3:00-5:00 pm and you must sit at the bar. Select appetizers and beverages are priced around $7. I ordered a cranberry and vodka and my husband had a Tecate beer. The bar and restaurant are upscale and comfortable. The dining room is large and there are additional tables on an outdoor patio. Anthony, our server was great, attentive and made a recommendation for the Pomegranate-Jicama Guacamole, which was unique, refreshing, beautiful and delicious. I loved it We ordered the La Quesadilla, which was ample and delicious. We also shared Avacado and Roasted Corn Toquitos which was artfully plated. The food was great and made a perfect light meal.

Casa Calavera is a good overall Mexican restaurant that is located inside the Virgin Hotel. They have some good deals going on for Taco Tuesday. The staff is friendly and professional and Casa Calavera has a cool.overall ambiance with murals painted on the wall. Overall, this was a good choice for a meal.

This place is still a 5 star in my books. While visiting Virgin hotel for a show I was starving afterwards & told me friend "we should get something to eat here." He was on board & we took a seat @ the bar. We were greeted right away. I had ordered a margarita & of course I can't remember the name of it, it was suppose to be sweet & spicy. Didn't really taste any spice to it but it was good. We got an order of chips & salsa. Salsa was kinda a brown & red salsa with a little bit of a kick to it. Chips were fresh & tasted good. We got an order of their guacamole which was soooooo yummy! Had a great mixture of flavorings to it and tasted very fresh. We also got their queso as I've had it before & loved it!! So cheesy. We shared all these apps & I also asked if I could get a side order of their mixed veggies that were delicious and full of great flavor. I feel like you can't go wrong here with their food. Definitely worth a try if your craving Mexican food. This place is better then when it was The Pink Taco back in the Hard Rock days!!
